James
1:22
Do not deceive yourselves by just listening to his word; instead,
put it into practice. 23 If you listen
to the word, but do not put it into practice you are like people
who look in a mirror and see themselves as they are. What do
you see when you look into the mirror dear friends?
We
must keep our faith strong and never waiver. Folks one of the
main complaints or problems many chaplains face is not being
excepted by some religious leaders in the community. I can not
begin to count the calls we have received over the years from
chaplains who have had their feelings hurt or have been broken
hearted due to comments made by their own family members, friends,
pastors or other religions leaders in the community. There is
one thing I can guarantee all of you, as chaplains even though
you are trying to help people in need, you can expect to be
be mocked, belittled and attacked by many in the world today,
There
will always be people who can not help themselves. They will
go out of their way to embarrass you, belittle you or make fun
of you. They will ask you where you went to seminary or where
did you received your documents and training. They will ask
if you have any degrees, if so, what bible college or seminary
did you attend, what did you major in. Many of us have heard
this time and time again. I can assure you we will always have
to deal with these kind of people who call themselves Christians.
We
must not get angry with them, we must pray for them. We must
pray for them and ask God from the bottom of our hearts to forgive
them for their arrogance and Insecurities. The Lord's work is
not a competition, it takes all of us, and even then there will
never be enough to reach everyone who is lost, in pain, or in
need. " Jesus warned us that if we did pick up our cross
and follow Him we would always be questioned, judged and criticized".
Jesus never was good enough for those who questioned, judged
and criticized Him", we as chaplains are in good company,
we must never forget who had Him tortured and murdered.
Chaplains
are called to a ministry of presence to hit the streets, the
streets are a very real hard core place and way of life that
covers a large area of the lord's ministry of presence. CFMI
chaplains are found in emergency rooms, outside operating rooms
with families, in Children's Homes, retirement home, Police
and Fire Departments, prisons, city jails, county jails, community
outreach Centers, drug rehab centers, hospitals, in the military,
at the bedside of terminally ill patients, knee deep in the
middle of natural disaster areas and in the streets. There are
many different ways that CFMI chaplains are serving. Chaplains
have to be all things to all people, and they are. Remember!
"If we only look at what is, we might never attain what
could be. There will come a day that no matter where disasters
might strike, chaplains of Chaplain Fellowship Ministries will
be there leading the way for all chaplains.
There
is no place in the Lord's ministry of presence that CFMI chaplains
have not gone, or will not go when needed. They are doing great
kingdom work worldwide. They are reaching thousands of people
who are lost, hurting and in need. We praise God and thank Him
for all the chaplains who are in the field taking the Lord's
ministry of presence to His people in need. Chaplain Fellowship
Ministries members of leadership have fallen under attack by
many over the years.
Chaplain
Fellowship Ministries has always taken a stance that education
is not always the most important thing when it comes to people
becoming good chaplains. We as chaplains must have Jesus as
our Lord and Savior in our everyday lives, without Him we have
nothing, without Him we are nothing. Please keep in mind, our
Chaplains and their families are only human, and they do make
mistakes at times, no one is perfect, they have problems like
everyone else. Please pray for our chaplains!
Every
human being on this earth has been given a variety of spiritual
gifts to fulfill their callings. God is not unjust. He will
not forget all the hard work and the love shown for Him as we
as chaplains and ministers reach out and help His people and
continue to help them. Those who feel other peoples pain and
feel in their hearts that they must reach out to those who are
hurting and suffering have been called and need to listen. Come
join us friends, we are making a difference and growing by leaps
and bounds for the Glory of the Lords' Kingdom. Thank you
for your time. Bless you! Chaplain Gibson

1:12
Happy are those who remain faithful under trials, because
when they succeed in passing such a test, they will receive
as their reward the life which God has promised to those who
love him.
